Turning 3 is Cheesy

Our youngest niece, Brooklyn turned 3 on September 20th... but her birthday party was last Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese...and I think she had a ball! I wasn't there, but John and James were able to go... I had to stay in bed - more updates on that after tomorrow's doctor's appointment.

So to celebrate Miss Brooklyn in all her glory - I thought I'd share some of the photos that John took so that I could feel like I was there...

Okay, first off a picture of my cutie pie with his MawMaw and Aunt Susan

Cake is always the best part, right?!

Doesn't that seem overwhelming? I'd love to be in one with $100 bills though!

My boys... oh how I love these two... and soon to be 3!

Products in Our House

It's been a while since I did one of these posts, and a few of you have enjoyed them so far... and well, I'm all about pleasing my readers (all two of you that are left around these parts)... so here we go!

We got caught up in the recall of Similac products that came out last week... so we've now changed our boy completely over to being a 100% Gerber baby... so he now eats:

Gerber Good Start Soy PLUS, Powder, Case Pack, Six - 25.7 Ounce Cans (154.2 Ounces) Gerber Good Start Soy PLUS, Powder, Case Pack, Six - 25.7 Ounce Cans (154.2 Ounces)

Gerber 1st Foods Assorted Fruits and Vegetables 18 Pack, 2.5oz Tubs Gerber 1st Foods Assorted Fruits and Vegetables 18 Pack, 2.5oz Tubs - he's tried all the veggies, and loves everything except peas... and has now gone through his trial on apples - which haven't been really successful either. I'm thinking is a texture issue for this boy... tomorrow we'll let him start peaches or bananas and see if he does any better. Or maybe we'll finish out the week on apples and start something new this weekend. It makes me sad for him to start something new with our sitter - because I like seeing him react to the new flavors. (I know - I can't help it... I want to be there for as many firsts as possible!)

James has also started branching out on his video watching... we've been loyal watchers of Baby Einstein - Baby Beethoven - Symphony of Fun & Baby Einstein - Baby Mozart - Music Festival... but we're now adding in a third title to our collection:

Baby Einstein: World Music Baby Einstein: World Music

Mommy wants to get me this:

My little rolly-polly is also starting to pick up toys and play with them... so we're enjoying giving him new things to play with and discover.

Our favorite toy to play with in the car is pretty neat - it's got little plastic parts he can chew on for teething, some parts that crinkle, and even though Mommy thinks its creepy... his head flips back and there is a mirror inside his "neck".

I've got one toy that I'm going to bring out for him soon - it's for 6 months and up... so he'll be ready for it in about a week, but I'm too excited. Ours is actually the Infantino Aqua Duck Mat... but I can't find that exact product to show you... so here are three that would be similar...

In getting ready for Tyler... we've been looking at all things breast pump related as well, and it looks like for me the best option right now is going to be renting it from the hospital. I am not really interested in spending so much on something that I'm not sure is going to work - or be a long term option... so I've talked with the lovely nurses in the NICU at our hospital to get the information on what the program is. It's actually through the Walgreens that is in the hospital tower where I will be staying, and the machine they are having me get is:

Medela Symphony Plus Hospital Grade Breast Pump - BPA Free #0240208 Medela Symphony Plus Hospital Grade Breast Pump - BPA Free #0240208

I am a complete rookie at the whole breast feeding deal... and am one of those weird ladies that is COMPLETELY uncomfortable about it, but am willing to give it a try - more for the financial impact that it will have for us more than anything else... but of course I know that the antibodies will be beneficial to Tyler too. (Please don't send me any lectures on this topic...)

James is also starting to stand up and stretch his legs a lot more lately... and while we have him one of these:

I am looking at walkers for him to play in as well...

Ooooh... and this looks like a LIFE SAVER (or back saver):

I'm getting excited for making the boy's Christmas lists for them... HAHAHA! It'll be all sorts of education toys that Mommy & Daddy want to play with... I wonder if we'll get one of those big toy books from Toys R Us this year since we're registered at Babies R Us? How FUN!
