About Me

Have a product you'd like reviewed? Would you like to talk to me about something else?

This blogging adventure started in 2007, when I started writing initially because I was planning to have weight loss surgery. It morphed into a way to share my weight loss surgery journey with friends and family - but surprisingly - I met a great group of women going through the same thing at the same time. They became such a great source of support.

In 2009, the blog morphed again as I began fertility treatments and went through the infertility journey that would lead to an extraordinary journey that I couldn't possibly have known was in the works for us. God is sometimes a funny man.

During September 2009, we were informed by our fertility specialist that we would have little to no hope of ever having any success with fertility treatments. They couldn't get my body to produce any mature eggs - not even with the help of injections. This left us with no help of IVF or any further invention by the specialist. So we turned our journey over to the Lord.

We felt the prompting that we needed to explore a different option for growing our family. For us that meant looking into adoption. The process seemed grueling, but in reality wasn't very long for us at all. In February of 2010, we had our first placement attempt but at the last minute the young lady changed her mind.

In April of 2010, we had our second placement - and brought our son James home on April 12th. We signed the adoption papers in the early afternoon and brought our baby boy home. At 3AM, on our first night at home with James... I took a pregnancy test because I hadn't been feeling well. This test came up positive!

A week later, we found out that not only were we expecting our second baby - but I was almost 13 weeks pregnant! Tyler was born on October 4, 2010... and life as we know it has never been the same. These boys keep us on our toes... but that is what this blog has become about - my life and journey through being a Christian, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, homeschooler, small business owner, and everything else that comes up along the way. I hope you will join in the fun.
