Too Stinkin' Funny

Yesterday, we spent a good part of the day at my Dad's new house - John helped with the move in... I pretty much watched and did some baby management. James had a fairly rough day - I think he was still having some discomfort from getting his shots on Friday evening.

If you can imagine a house so awesome - that 11 people can be inside it while it is full of boxes and it still didn't seem crowded! I can't wait to hang out there once they are all settled... and the guys start work on the pool in a couple of weeks - so I can't wait to see how that goes too! 

At one point in the day, John had James on his little play mat... and was about to change his diaper. Well, with all the kids - they wanted to watch... but John asked if James could have a little privacy. (giggle) My little sister, Gabby (6) immediately plopped down on a box about 2 feet from John & James and proceeded to watch.

About this time - I happened to walk over and just made a comment about how weird it is to have an audience for a diaper change. John of course tells me that he'd asked for a little privacy... but my little brother, Josh (7) in this exact moment... looks at me and says: "Well, you know it IS quite a show for the ladies."

I about died! How do you even react to that? John and I couldn't look at each other - and I just had to walk away and laugh. I mean WHERE do they come up with this stuff?!

It's certainly going to be interesting having them live so close... I expect lots of little moments like this one - too funny!

Confessions

John will love that I'm telling this story - because he got such a kick out of it yesterday. He just about giggled the entire way home from work about it...

What was so funny, you might ask?? Well, I'll tell ya.

I didn't realize it at the time but apparently the ultrasound folks can zoom in and zoom out on the images you see during the scan... and I was a little preoccupied with pain and smashing going on... and contorting my body so that the lady could get the proper images.

Well, I remember seeing the image that was the one where she told us that Tyler was in fact a boy... and it was QUITE obvious what we were looking at...

A few minutes later, we were watching her measure the major bones in the legs and things... and well, his femur looked smaller to me than his boy parts... and I was a little worried that our baby might be a mutant.

It was at this point, through laughing so hard he was crying that John told me about the zoom feature of the images... UGH! I hate it when I have those moments of missing things... which happens more often than not when I'm being poked or prodded by some sort of medical professional.

Sadly the ultrasound lady had zero personality - so she couldn't enjoy our humor... oh well, we thought we were funny.

What is the last incredibly silly/embarrassing/ditzy thing you've done lately? Mine seem to be happening more and more often - and getting more and more off the wall every day! I blame it on the pregnancy, but I don't know if that's even fair.

As I sit here, I'm looking over to see one of the sweetest sights that I could ever imagine... my boys both asleep in the recliner... there is nothing more sweet than that!

So my friend Jenn, and I were chatting today... a continuation of a conversation that started a while back about desperate eating habits. You know, those times in your life where you're so hungry - you'd do something out of the ordinary and eat a random item.

Mine? A pat of butter...

Hers? Some dry apple cinnamon oatmeal mix...

What can we say - desperate times call for desperate measures... Sooooo, in the spirit of transparency... what have YOU eaten in your desperate times? Can you beat us?

I found a couple of more videos that always make me laugh and cheer me up when I'm not feeling well.

This first one is pretty funny - it is about good songs to use for product ads - after he gets through with a little bit about Elmo.

This next one is hysterical - I don't know why, but it makes me laugh... almost as much as the wedding entrance video from yesterday. This one is called Achmed The Dead Terrorist.

Finally this one - I don't care who you are - it's funny... whenever I'm having a bad day - this is the video that I watch to cheer me up. It makes me laugh EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
