Never Get It Back

Here I am back on the couch after a 10 hour ordeal with doctors and the ER. This morning, I woke up feeling much of the same as the last couple of days only a bit worse as I continued to lose fluids all night.

Before the doctor's office opened this morning, I turned the corner to go into my kitchen... and everything went black. I didn't faint completely, but I blacked out for a bit. I went to lay down and wait until the doctor's office opened up an hour later.

I called exactly at the time that the office opened, and they told me the come right over... "the doctor will be waiting for you when you get here." Yet another reason that I was a little bit beside myself this morning.

My friend Renee tried to talk me into letting her drive me to the doctor, but in my typical stubborn fashion... I didn't want to possibly infect them with whatever I might have. I made it to the doctor's office, and after only a couple of minutes - I found myself in a wheel chair headed for the emergency room.

After 9 hours of waiting and tests: a brain scan, belly scan, and x-rays... I got a bag & a half of fluids and some nausea medicine... I'm home and resting. You wouldn't believe the waiting, but hopefully by the end of the weekend, I'll be good as new.

I did find out that the kidney stone is still there - but my doctor said that sometimes those never pass. But other than that the only thing they officially found was a raised white blood cell count which indicates infection - and my doctor believes that it is viral because of the nature of my symptoms.

So, that was my day... how was yours?

  3. My goodness Kim!! I wonder what led to the dehydration in the first place?!

I hope having your fluids back on track resolves the headache though!
