Happy Day

I just wanted to stop in and tell you that so far the day has been amazing. John is busily cooking right now - he's making a special dinner for me tonight including:
  • Smoked Pork Tenderloin Stuffed with Apple Stuffing and Wrapped in Bacon
  • Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes
  • Garlicky Broccolini
  • Crunchy Asian Coleslaw Salad
  • Rolls
  • Lime Sherbet Punch
  • Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream Cake (Devils Food cake topped with Sweet Cream ice cream)

Recipes will be put on the recipe blog as soon as I can get them there - probably tomorrow.

I've been relaxing and enjoying all of the messages coming through email, Facebook, and blog comments. I am truly blessed.

Jenn won the contest this year as was the first one to wish me a happy birthday - she confirmed that I truly am very quiet in real life compared to my internet alter-ego. I'm MUCH more outgoing online than I am in reality. That being said though, I know that if we lived closer - she'd see the other side of me too... the more I'm around people the more out of my shell I get.

John and I hung some shelves in my craft room this morning - so when I get all of my stuff arranged in there... I'll take some pictures of how it turns out. My goal was to get my glitter and other messy items up out of reach of the kids that will be spending their Thursday nights up there for the better part of 10 weeks this summer.

During our small group, we bring in childcare to our house - and this year we thought that we'd set them up in the craft room with some of those art projects that are for little kids... the ones that only color on the special paper... as little mess as possible. We also bought some movies for them to watch as well - the television in the craft room doesn't have cable, but we're going to set them up with a DVD player so they should be entertained for a couple of hours. I of course have an assortment of toys for them as well. So I'm working on making the room dual purpose right now.

So far, I've had 3 of my four food love languages today - and a 4th will come at the end of dinner. I didn't opt for stopping by Starbucks AND Sonic on my little trip out... I figured that I'll have Starbucks in the morning - so 4 out of 5 is a pretty darn good day!

I will be back with pictures later tonight or tomorrow - depending on how late our company stays over this evening. Considering one of our guests is 2 and another is 70... AND that we all have church in the morning - I'm thinking that it'll be possible to get the pictures up tonight.

I hope you are all enjoying your day today - I know I am!
