Covered in Poop... Sigh.

Since I became a mother, I've waited and dreaded this day... The day I have to clean poop off my child's face.

(I gagged just typing that)

Tyler has been sleeping worse than an infant these days - up multiple times a night only to be calmed by being held. So at about 3 or so this morning he woke up and I ended up sharing the twin bed in his room with him for the rest of the night.

Around 8 this morning, I heard James wake up and start making some noise. Really, that normally means he is finally ready to get out of bed. Tyler and I got up to go get him, and as soon as I opened the door... I smelled the poop.

Not totally unusual to anyone that has a baby or toddler. Only, as I got closer to his bed... I noticed that the duct tape "belt" we put on his diaper was attached to his belly, but the diaper was hanging open.

Upon further inspection, gasp... James had poop on his face, hands, legs, feet, and bed... I've never been more angry at him in my life. I've also been been more grossed out.

It took me a good bit of time to get things cleaned up, and get us downstairs to wash his bedding. I am still mad...

Of course now that we've been up for a couple of hours... I've cleaned up 3 poop incidents. This day is just covered in poop... And nap time is still two hours away!!

I plan on taking them in their pjs (redneck, I know) to get some Chick-fil-a for their lunch. Likely pick up dinner for John and I at Pei Wei... Put them down for naps... Wait for the Dell technician, and maybe catch 10 minutes of down time before the count down to bedtime!

  1. Gah. I don't know whether to laugh or unwrinkle my face. Potty training will be here before you know it (and not soon enough, I'm sure!)

  2. We delt with the same last week with Dassah:/ It was awful! And it wasn't the 1st time to happen! This happened about 3 months ago and she did it 2 times in 1 week. It was a nightmare! She has been going through this stage that she like to strip her clothes and diaper off! Not cool. We even worned the her teacher at children church last week to watch her.. Because she may rip off her diaper. She's not potty trained yet.. But we're working on it. She tells us "potty and pee pee" and sits on her potty for a min at longest and wants to "wipe herself". Lol however she's never actually went in the potty.

I feel your pain, and disgust with the poo! Maybe I should try the duct tape for her diaper too?! ;)
