Photo 365 - Week 13

We're getting close to being caught up...

March 24, John was helping to entertain the boys... James thought this was better than anything he'd done all day!

March 25, I bought this little back of mini-bananas and they were amazing. I have trouble with bananas being too ripe for as fast as we can eat them. These came completely green, and were the perfect size for the boys to eat a whole one. I got 6 of them for $.99!

March 26, my little trouble makers up on top of the toy box... ugh.

March 27, the start of James' birthday things coming in. Just a few things for some of our friends... I'm making special Dr. Seuss inspired cookies for his class this year. I can't wait to share the photos of those!

March 28, Tyler looked so cute in his outfit for school that I had to snap a quick photo of him.

March 29, my crazy boys playing on our pajama rest day... they are so silly! I must say it ended badly... but it was cute while they were giggling!

March 30, John caught this photo of the boys just before we put them to bed Friday night - they looked so darn cute!

March 31, we needed to take my car in for some routine maintenance which meant putting the car seats in John's car. They won't fit rear facing - so the boys got their first taste of sitting forward facing. James was so funny - he just stared with his mouth open most of the time. Occasionally, he would smile at me, but this was his face most of the time.

That catches us up! I'll likely be late getting this week's photos loaded because of Easter and James' birthday, but I'll get them up as soon as possible!

Photo 365 - Week 12

Here we are for our third installment of the catch up posts...

March 18, The boys were fighting over a push toy on Sunday, so Daddy put together their lawn mower. James was THRILLED. They've been pushing it around nonstop ever since.

March 19, My little Monkeys having some fun in their Daddy's chair. They love climbing into the chair before we can get in it... if only we could trust them in it while we're not in the room. They just don't quite get the fact that they can't stand up in it and act crazy.

March 20, This picture makes me laugh. Such a epitome of my life these days. They shouldn't be on the coffee table, but I chose to ignore that battle for the moment... but they were on it this day having a singing dance party.

March 21, it was my small group's week to bring the breakfast for our MOPS meeting. I made these puffins (pancake muffins) they were really tasty! I wish that the maple syrup flavor would have been more pronounced, but I was pleased with them anyway. They'll be on Momma Hawk Cooks as soon as I can get caught up over there.

March 22, I went and got a pedicure while the boys were at school. Tyler was mesmerized by the color on my toes - he kept pressing them like they were buttons.

March 23, another relaxing day - we just hung around the house and played. I caught this photo of the boys sitting together in their toy basket - the story of my days... they clear the toys off of the book shelves, out of the toy box, and out of the basket... all for me to put back together while they sleep - to destroy again the next day.

March 24, This guy... oiy! He has figured out how to climb up there and get the gate open. Luckily he hasn't fallen off of it... but geez. What am I going to do with him?!

Photo 365 - Week 11

Another week of photos for our catch up series...

March 11,  I did some baking a cooking for the week - blueberry muffins for the boys and Funfetti cookies. The Funfetti cookies were pretty good - you could make those with any cake mix you like, and they were so quick & easy. I'll post the recipe on Momma Hawk Cooks as soon as I can.

March 12, We were playing around the house - and I snapped a quick photo of my soon to be 2 year old. He's getting so big!!

March 13, I tried out a new crock pot BBQ beef sandwich recipe that turned out really well. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ generally, but made this anyway for something different - I'll put the recipe up on Momma Hawk Cooks as soon as I can.

March 14, was in the middle of Spring Break... which meant no school or MOPS for us. Luckily, our MOPS group set up a play date at a local park. I took the boys for a bit - we're morning nappers still so the timing was hard - they had a good time and we left in time to get home for naps. They loved this dinosaur at the park.

March 15, was a rainy day for the most part - I took this picture because the rain pools right beside our swing set - we need to move it, but I was amazed how much it rained that morning and how much it pooled up.

March 16, Tyler is really developing quite the personality and is becoming a big stinker. He will just look at you, smile, and go right on doing whatever it is that he wants - regardless of you telling him not to do it. We are working on disciplining him out of this, but he is really hard headed. It's a good thing he's so darn cute!

March 17, every Saturday morning we have what we call a "milk picnic" in Mom & Dad's room. John brings the boys down from their room and we pile up in our bed for the 5-10 minutes it lasts and we snuggle while watching Sprout and drinking their morning milk. It's nice, and the boys love when their Daddy is home to get them out of bed in the morning.

Until the next catch up...

Photo 365 - Week 10

I'm WAY behind on this - so I'm going to start getting caught up this week... I've been taking the photos - just haven't gotten them posted since the beginning of March. Oops. What can I say - life gets crazy around here.

March 4, I made oatmeal cream pies for John because he loves the Little Debbie ones - I thought that homemade would be better... and I was right - we thought they were GREAT!

March 5, I did a show at the Melting Pot here in Memphis - I set up my Stella & Dot stuff and my Scentsy stuff for all the customers that night. It was their Ladies Night Out event, and it was a lot of fun.

March 6, My little men... These guys keep me on my toes, but they are so much fun. I love them sooooo much!

March 7, Allie relaxing which cracks me up - I mean she sleeps in some of the funniest positions. When she isn't bouncing off the walls - you'll find her curled up somewhere around the house doing nothing.

March 8, The girls curled up together on the couch. I thought this was sweet - because up until now - they really just kind of ignored each other. Glad to see them embracing their shared space.

March 9, I promise this is the last of the fur baby photos - but she made me laugh perching up there in the middle of the toys. Tyler was intrigued - and of course ran her off shortly after I took the photo.

March 10, I couldn't choose one of these photos over the other - so I put them both. We took a family walk, played outside, and ended the day with haircuts. The boys were worn out completely and we had a good afternoon.

Until next time! We'll catch up on another week.

Photo a Day - Week 8 & 9

I missed last weekend, and I can't even remember why - I think I just never had a chance to get on the computer. I'm desperately trying to not use my laptop when the boys are awake right now because I had to have some warranty work on it recently because of them pushing it over and messing with it one too many times. I find that because of this and my exhaustion when they go to bed at night - I rarely get on the laptop at night either. I'm trying to find my balance... and as usual, I'm failing miserably at that.

February 19 - I made my boys some Rice Krispies Treats because they love them, and I really enjoy making them happy.

February 20 - My oldest niece's 16th birthday - she is a big Starbucks fan, so I had one in her honor since we couldn't be together.

February 21 - My Dad's birthday... but also the day that we got "Allie" the cat! She is such a sweetie, and settled in quickly.

February 22 - Allie truly was completely at home and relaxed in less than 24 hours of being with us here... she makes me laugh!

February 23 - My 10th wedding anniversary!! So hard to believe we've been married this long - for this anniversary, Momma got her first Coach purse & wallet!! WAH HOO! John is such an amazing man, and I'm blessed to be his partner for life. I'm ready for whatever the next 10 years brings!

February 24 - I took the boys on our first outing to the park by ourselves. They had a great time, and we managed to get in and play without losing anyone or getting anyone hurt!

February 25 - Daddy had to work all day on Saturday - so we tried to pack in some fun activities. Only Mommy didn't get the memo to use FREEZER bags for the finger paint activity - and it was short lived because we busted the paint out!

February 26 - I typically do my most labor intensive cooking on Sundays... which means baking and fresh meals that aren't prepped ahead and baked later... I had some extra crescent roll dough and an apple... so presto - mini apple pies that we had with some ice cream!!

February 27 - While the boys were napping, I laid down with Allie... it was short lived as we quickly were on our way to the pediatrician for two sets of: strep swabs in the throat, flu swabs up the nose, and blood work... only to find out that both boys had a "red throat" and a virus. (Can I get an amen that VIRUS is the worst word ever for a Momma to hear from the pediatrician?!)

February 28 - I made a childhood favorite of mine for dinner - Swiss Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and Fresh Green Beans. It was amazing, and such great soul food for me. I will post the recipes on Momma Hawk Cooks as soon as I can.

February 29 - We took it easy and played with our toys most of the day on Wednesday. Momma put us in the car in our jammies to go get a Starbucks and a Sonic because she knew it was going to be a LONG day... she was right, and the drinks were helpful.

March 1 - John had to stay home with the boys because Tyler was still very sick. I had a party to give for my businesses, and once I was home - John did a little yard work, and I took the boys out to play on their swing set.

March 2 - I got very ill on Friday, so I allowed this to happen with the toys. I literally just gave up and let them do whatever they wanted to... because Momma was a puky mess.

March 3 - This cracks me up - Allie and I were resting during nap time yesterday... and I guess I was talking too much during what she deemed "quiet time"

Project 366 - Week 7

Here we are 7 weeks into the year... CRAZY! I can't even remember where the time goes, I mean really... each day seems so long and then the weeks seem to fly by.

February 12 - While waiting for his breakfast last Sunday morning, James decided he needed to do a little "work" on his laptop - this just cracked me up and I had to share. He loves this little laptop and the batteries were dead for a few weeks... so he just got it back working again, and it's a renewed love that he feels for this toy.

February 13 - We had a Valentine's play group party with our MOPS friends - they had a bouncy house that James enjoyed far too much... and Tyler found this workbench that he fell in love with. It's funny how different their personalities are - James is rough and wants to be thrown around while Tyler is more gentle and just wants to play nice or snuggle.

February 14 - We had a quiet day at home for our Valentine's Day. We stayed in our pajamas and just relaxed. Everyone in the family got some form of candy and the boys also got a new toy. It was a small little beanie ball - that neither of them have paid any attention to - but Momma tried.

February 15 - We had MOPS on Wednesday morning. It's a big rush to get them home afterwards to eat lunch and take naps. The meeting is over at noon - and we're normally napping at that time - so I have to drive home (about 30-45 minutes) with my hand in the backseat in Tyler's face. James won't fall asleep in the car... but Tyler will and then decides that is enough nap for the day. He actually did fall asleep on the way home, ate and then took a good long nap - so it was a pleasant surprise.

February 16 - This was school picture day!! Momma is so excited to see how they turn out - their teacher Ms. Sheri said that they did really well, but I have to wait until the proofs are back. It was also my Dad & stepmom, Lynne's 22nd anniversary. So we took this photo of us on the way to school to send to them as part of their happy anniversary wishes.

February 17 - We took another pajama day on Friday because other than Tuesday - we had been out and about everyday this week so I thought that they boys just needed a day to play and try to get as much rest as possible. James has been having some trouble getting to bed at night this week - so I was hoping to help him get some good nap time in.

I love these matching PJ's that John's parents gave the boys for Christmas... they're so adorable in their dinosaur pajamas.

February 18 - Let me start this photo's explanation by saying that I'm a HUGE wimp and decided that instead of getting a baby sitter for our 10th Wedding Anniversary celebration... maybe we'd take the boys to Benihana to enjoy watching the chef cook. They enjoyed the experience and loved the food - I'm so happy because this truly is a life long favorite of mine... and I'm thrilled to be able to see it through the eyes of my kids. This particular chef didn't play up to the kids as much as I'm used to - but we'll find one that does better when we go next time.

Since neither of the boys can talk and we don't have any family here... and lets face it two babies is a lot to deal with for a sitter... I'm just scared to even attempt to find one right now. When they can talk and tell me if they have a good time and like the person - I'll feel better about it. (I hope that makes sense)

So, since our actual anniversary is on Thursday - I'm going to meet John for lunch while the boys are at school. That way we will get to celebrate with our family and then have a little time alone as well. Either way you go, this is WAY better than last year when John was here in Memphis working and the boys and I were in Texas. It's just lovely to be together in whatever form that takes.

I hope you enjoyed looking into our week... and now I'm off to check in on the photos of all the other ladies linking up with us in this project.
