Last Day of Vacay

Tonight is my last night on this vacation... and it's been another great day. Mom worked again today, so I drove her there and took the car again. I went to have coffee (or watch them have it) with Meme and Tere.

Tere invited me to run some errands with her for the morning, which was fun... she did some normal errands and then I went with her to get a pedicure. I watched, but enjoyed the conversation.

From there, I headed to the grocery store for Mom to pick up things for tonight's dinner. We planned to make dinner for the family and homeade ice cream... so I had to get the ice cream mix cooked and chilling before picking Mom up from work. So I spent the afternoon doing that, and getting things ready for everyone to come over.

I picked up Mom from work, and then we shipped a big package of stuff to my house - it's all sorts of fun stuff: my Wii Fit, a new camera, my figurine of the Boston Terrier, a couple of scrapbooking finds, and some clothes that I decided to ship back to make my suitcase a little lighter for me to carry. All should arrive at home by Wednesday - so it will be a fun surprise when I get home.

Tonight - we made the ice cream and cooked a feast: grilled chicken, salad, green bean casserole, and wild rice. Everyone loved it, and it was a nice treat to be able to make a meal for my Grandmother and her husband...my Aunt, and a long time family friend too. Since John and I live so far - it will probably be just about my only shot at being able to make something like that for Meme and Bill... so it was a nice treat.

Mom and I are just relaxing now, and getting ready for bed in a little bit. See ya'll tomorrow back in Cypress!!

  1. What a marvelous idea to ship stuff home! I'll have to remember that trick!
