Guest Blogger - Renee

Hi ya'll!

Since I'm guest posting for Kim today, while she is off having a ball on her girl's weekend, let me introduce myself. I'm Renee, from Houston, and my normal home is over at Right Foot Forward. Kim and I met a few months ago when she and John started attending our church. Since then, I've really enjoyed getting to know her and hubby and let me tell ya'll, if you didn't already know, they're gold! Pure gold.

It took Kim and I a little while to get to know each other, since we're both so darn shy (you'd never guess that form either of our blogs, huh), but we finally did one night when we went over to play games with some other friends from church. We played this horrible game called guesstures, where you have to get up and act like a plum fool until someone guesses what you're trying to act out. You know, one of those games. Actually, it wasn't all that horrible, but I was terribly embarrassed the whole time. That's a circumstance I find myself in often though, so I guess I'm used to it.

By the cherry hue of her cheeks, I could sense Kim and I were kindred spirits when it came to um...social experiences. The next time Kim and I hung out it was at our ladies retreat, where we had the pleasure of riding up and back together with my sweet aunt and one of my best friends Meredith. It was good times, ya'll, good times. What with my constant caffeine cravings (I get a little nervous if I get too far from a caffeine source), my crazy driving, and my sorry attempt to run a sound board, well, I could have a whole other post or two...or three. I'll spare you, I promise.

Enough on that, I love your Kim, and am really pleased that I'm getting to meet her internets!

Over at Right Foot Forward, I write a lot about things that interest me and how they relate to the life of my family. We're pretty young, I'm 28, my hubby Kyle's 26, and our little L is almost 2, so we're facing a lot of the struggles you go through when you're a family that's just starting out. K's a high school teacher and the youth pastor at our church, I'm a stay at home mom (former middle school teacher), we've been married almost 3 years, and we're both madly in love with each other. We're learning to be good stewards of the things God has given us, and we try really hard to live our lives with integrity. K and I are also learning a lot about what, or who rather, God wants us to be as parents. This includes constant exercises in patience, self-control, patience, understanding, and well patience. Both with ourselves and our daughter.

I am also a forth generation super-frugal mom (aka el cheap-o), so if you're interested in learning how to save and stretch your money, check out my regular posts on Money Mondays. On Fridays, I also have a regular post called the Friday Five (oh, I am oh so creative), where you can check out some of my favorite products to use and things to do. They'll almost always be cheap! The rest of the week you can just read my babble about things that we're doing, things that catch me by surprise, my constant struggle with eating/living healthy, and our goals to be good stewards of our bodies, earth, money, time, and minds.

Well, Kim's internets, now that we've had a chance to meet, I hope we can get to know each other a little better. Feel free to drop by Right Foot Forward any time and leave me a note while you're there! I can't guarantee I'll always be insightful, but at the very least you'll have something to entertain yourself by! :-D
