What a Weekend

I have been working at keeping myself super busy - so that I won't have idle time to sit and just think or cry or get angry... you know, all the things I've been doing for the last week. I know that you've all read this stuff - if you've been reading... you know where I've been the last week.

So I've thrown myself into working while I'm at the office - I got a lot accomplished - but at the same time it's just a way for me to be numb and pass the time. Whatever, it worked... regardless it helped pass the time in such a way that literally I felt like if I blinked, half the day would have passed me by. CRAZY BUSY!

When I left the office yesterday - I rushed home to get some shopping done... I went to Target to get a gift for my friend, Natalie, for her baby shower that was today. She and her husband just adopted baby Addison a couple of weeks ago, after a long battle with infertility... and their beautiful family is such a blessing and a joy for us.

From Target - I went to dinner with my friend Danielle and her daughter, Victoria... and then off to the grocery store. I'd planned a marathon morning of cooking - right up until time to get ready for the shower today.

I made Mixed Up Cereal Treats, Pretty in Pink Treats 1, Pretty in Pink Treats 2, Red Velvet Cake Balls (to post on the recipe blog tomorrow), and my almost famous Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole. An assortment of desserts was given to Natalie and her husband for their enjoyment along with the casserole... and Danielle, my inlaws, John, and my coworkers will all benefit from an assortment of the same desserts being offered for their enjoyment.

The shower was so wonderful - it was put on my a combination of Natalie's friends and some of our church family... it was beautiful, and so special. Natalie brought us all to tears at the beginning by thanking all of us for the support over the years... oh how I know what the support can mean. And we do have an AMAZING church family... simply amazing.

She got some wonderful gifts, and it just was a beautiful time to see her simply glowing - I mean the joy and love that is pouring out of her right now is just an uplifting thing to see. I certainly hope to receive a blessing of this type when God is ready for us.

I met someone else that is connected to the agency that we're thinking of using should we feel God calling us to adopt - which right now - I'm not sure if he's calling us or beating us over the head with it. HA! The woman that I met today is the adopted daughter of the agency's director. I also met another mother that has adopted through the agency as well... so it was wonderful to be surrounded by the love and miracles that adoption can provide.

John and his Dad just returned home from their men's retreat with our church - and we're about to watch the Texas A&M vs Arkansas game... Gig 'Em Aggies! I'm of course more than likely going to work on making some jewelry and cook dinner - because I can't just sit still and watch football. So, watch for another recipe next week that I'm trying out tonight... Chicken Marsala Pasta Toss.

I hope you're all having a good weekend - I can't say that I'm 100% back to normal, but I'm trying... and if nothing else - I'm being super productive!
