Productivity

For my first (I guess actually second) workday without having a job to go to - was actually extremely productive. I woke up this morning, got John's lunch ready... and shipped him off to work. The proceeded to help his Dad out by returning a machine that he had rented for the weekend...

I got back home at about 7:30 this morning, and immediately called for someone to come pick up the two unused CPAP machines that we have here at the house. Apparently they haven't been able to figure out our insurance situation. It changed in January, and we've given them the new information several times... and I'm just tired of messing with it. We don't use them - so while I'm off - I'm getting them out of the house!

From there I took a short nap - I didn't sleep very well last night... so I earned it. Watched a couple of shows on television... reruns of ER that are shown on TNT during the day... I don't know where I'd be without TNT.

After lunch - I rearranged some cabinets in the kitchen, went to work on putting some new bookshelves up in my craft room, and finally doing some actual scrapbooking.

I got three pages designed today - so it was a good productive day all the way around.

I also had meeting #3 with Lisa, and we had some GREAT discussions about what we've been reading, and my memory verses for next week... I'll get into those tomorrow.

For tonight - I quoted: (both from the NIV)

Psalms 107:1 - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.
Psalms 9:1 - I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.

John got some things figured out on our budget, and it looks like we're in good shape to endure throughout the summer. He even found an area-wide job fair for teachers on June 9th... so I'll be looking forward to attending that.

Tomorrow - I'll be heading back to the office to clean out my things which I think will put things more into the official category in my mind... right now it just feels like I've been on vacation. So tomorrow it will feel over and complete. After getting my things out of the office - I'm meeting a couple of my colleagues for lunch which will be nice.

  2. Glad today went well! It seems you and John are settling into these temporary roles with you not working and that you two are going to be fine. I hope good things happen at the job fair! If they are having one for teachers then they must be in demand!

  3. It's amazing how fast the day flies by when you don't have a job to go to. I look up sometimes and think "where did the day go"

  4. Hey, Kim,

I just went to my first job fair Saturday, and it was so scary! Have you been to one? If you haven't call me, and I can tell you what to expect so that you'll be prepared. I called my principal when I got there and was near tears. She had to talk me through it. The good news is that I did well (thanks to her!) and think I'll get a job out of it.

Also, I have been reading your blog at work, and our filter blocks out the photos, so I hadn't seen your pics. Let me just say that you look FANTASTIC. I'm so proud of your success. Also, I love your hair!

    Take Care,
    Danielle

  5. I am so proud!! When I have days without work, I don't seem to get ANYTHING done. Good job!

How nice to have the entire summer with no worries. I'm getting inspired to do that budgeting class you mentioned... Lee and I have never been pros with our finances.
