Right Place, Right Time

I was enlightened yesterday on something that I just find amazing - since John is sometimes "in the know" at our church because of his involvement with the creative team for our church... the group of people that get together to make our services as powerful as they can be. They design skits, videos, and other aides that help make the messages each week more dynamic.

Anyway, because God is so good... and our pastor is in a word - amazing. John said that our service this weekend was easier for me to digest because it was designed that way. Because there are some families in our church struggling to have children right now - the message was given with us in mind. Can you believe that?! I am just so amazed at the goodness of God.

I was telling John how grateful I felt to be in that place on Sunday morning instead of in the service that I knew was going on in so many other churches across the world.

We were asked to go to John's grandmother's church for Sunday because one of our 6 year old nieces (Taylor - in the pictures from yesterday's post) was singing a solo - Jesus Loves Me - in the service. We would have loved to have been there, but I also know how painful it would have been to be in that service.

The reason we weren't able to go is because there has been a big development in our house in the last couple of weeks. John has been given the position of Assistant Worship Leader for our church!! I am so incredibly proud of him, and so excited for the opportunity to hear him lead once a month. He will be doing other administrative things as they relate to the worship team and over time they think the position will grow into more. With this development - it wasn't the right time to be away from our church.

In actuality though, when you find a church home that you love... you just don't feel right not being there. I felt weird as it was to leave and not have my hour with my 2 year olds... which I think truly was a gift from God as well. It might have been one of those days that being in there drove the knife in my chest a little deeper... but I missed the kids anyway.

So anyway - I wanted to share these two things with you because it just proves how good God is even in the tough times... you can often look back and see the amazing things that God is doing in your life, even when you think that he's not there... he is.

I promise - now I'm going to write the post on Sunday's message.
